Radomes with heating wire – protection and function for radar systems
Radomes – covers for radar systems – must be robust, weather-resistant, and signal-neutral. Reliable operation even subject to difficult environmental conditions is essential for long-range radar systems in particular.
Weißer + Grießhaber has developed a process that enables the automated integration of a heating wire into the radar cover together with a customer. This function prevents the system from freezing and ensures consistent signal quality. The assemblies consist of basic bodies with overmoulded punched grids, heating wire, and high-quality high-gloss surfaces – manufactured in highly automated injection moulding processes and tailored to the requirements of the automotive industry.
